FARMINGTON, Utah (March 1, 2022) – With back-to-back clutch performances to help lift his team to a pair of victories, Portland State’s Khalid Thomas has been named Big Sky Conference ROAR Organic Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Thomas led Portland State to two more wins last week by averaging 22.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.0 blocked shots.
The Vikings beat then second-place Weber State then Idaho State in back-to-back games and have now won three straight contests, five straight at home and seven of nine overall.
Thomas made 17-of-31 shots from the field, 5-of-9 from three-point range and 5-of-6 at the line in the two wins. He scored a career-high 27 points with seven rebounds, four steals and a block on Senior Night against Idaho State. Thomas scored 19 of the 27 in the comeback win in the second half and overtime.
This season, he leads the Vikings with 11.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.
