FARMINGTON, Utah (February 22, 2022) – Splitting ROAR Organic weekly honors, Eastern Washington’s Linton Acliese III and Idaho’s Rashad Smith have been named Co-Men’s Basketball Players of the Week in the Big Sky Conference.
Acliese III had a monster contest against the league-leading Montana State Bobcats, scoring 38 points to set a new season standard for the league, as the previous high this year was 36. He also pulled down eight rebounds. Against the Vandals, he had 20 points and eight rebounds. Additionally, he shot 64 percent from the field.
This marks his second weekly honor of the season.
Shooting red-hot numbers from the field in a pair of victories, Idaho’s Smith averaged 20 ppg in the pair of contests. Impressively, he shot 80 percent from the field and went 8-of-8 from behind the three-point line. He also shot 89 percent from the free throw line.
Additionally, he averaged 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game for the Vandals, who have won three contests in a row.
