Fowler Earns ROAR Organic Player of the Week Honors Following 30-Point Outing

The veteran helped Sacramento State to an 85-71 road victory over Northern Colorado on Saturday afternoon, handing the Bears their first loss in Big Sky play this season

FARMINGTON, Utah (January 11, 2022) – For the first time in his career at Sacramento State, which began in the 2017-18 season, Hornet senior Bryce Fowler has been named ROAR Organic Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The veteran helped Sacramento State to an 85-71 road victory over Northern Colorado on Saturday afternoon, handing the Bears their first loss in Big Sky play this season. Additionally, the Hornets had not won a contest in Greeley since 2012.

Fowler could not be stopped, as he totaled 30 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes. His 30-point outing was just two points short of his career high.

He finished the game 11-for-16 from the field and 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Of his 30 points, 20 came in the second half on 6-for-7 shooting from the floor. He accounted for over half of the Hornets’ 39 second-half points to beat a Northern Colorado team that had also been undefeated at home.

It marked his second 30-point game in just over a month as he also notched 32 points against Montana State. Additionally, he has now scored double figure numbers in every game this season and is averaging 22.8 points per game against Big Sky competition on 58 percent shooting from the field. He also averages 5.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists versus the league.

Fowler, a senior from Avondale, Arizona, was an All-Big Sky honorable mention last season.
