Big Sky Announces Fourth-Annual Team Academic Champions

Portland State women’s golf held the highest GPA across every sport

FARMINGTON, Utah (July 31, 2026) – For the fourth-consecutive summer, the Big Sky Conference has announced its Team Academic Champions, highlighting the top team academically across all sponsored sports for the 2025-26 athletic calendar.

The full list of winners can be found below.

“Congratulations to our Team Academic Champions from this past year,” Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. “We implemented these awards four years ago to further promote the incredible successes our student-athletes are having in the classroom on a consistent basis. During this time, we’ve seen some very strong efforts across all our sports that the entire membership should be proud of.”

These titles were based upon combined team GPA for the entire 2025-26 academic calendar, not just the season they competed in.

Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field were combined for the purposes of these titles.

Portland State women’s golf held the highest GPA across every sport, posting a 3.90 as a team this past season. Idaho State women’s cross country had the second highest GPA (3.88), followed by Montana women’s tennis (3.86).
