FARMINGTON, Utah (December 21, 2021) – For the third time this season, and of his career, Weber State redshirt freshman forward Dillon Jones has been named Big Sky Conference ROAR Organic Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Jones averaged a double-double against Utah State and Brigham Young University, putting up 19.5 points per game and 11 rebounds per contest. Additionally, he averaged 70 percent shooting from the field in those two contests as well.
He scored 20 points against BYU, which set a new career-high.
Through 12 games this season Jones has secured a double-double in eight of them. That ranks him second nationally for double-doubles behind only Utah Valley’s Fardaws Aimaq.
The reigning Freshman of the Year in the Big Sky has won half of the Big Sky’s weekly awards this season, taking the title home in both week two and week four.
Others Nominated: Amin Adamu (Montana State), Marlon Ruffin (Portland State), Zach Chappell (Sacramento State), Jalen Cone (Northern Arizona), Daylen Kountz (Northern Colorado), Angelo Allegri (Eastern Washington)
