FARMINGTON, Utah (November 23, 2021) – Following an unbeaten run at the 2021 Jersey Mike’s Classic in St. Petersburg, Florida and earning Tournament MVP honors, Weber State’s Dillon Jones has been named Big Sky Conference
ROAR Organic Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Jones did a little bit of everything for the Wildcats and did it efficiently. He averaged a double-double, scoring 15.7 points per game and pulling down 10.3 rebounds per contest. He put up those number while shooting 65 percent from the field. He also was 8 of 10 from the free throw line and had six assists and five steals in the three games.
He had a double-double in two games, as he scored 15 points in the first game of the tournament against UMass and followed that up with career-highs of 19 points and 14 rebounds in Friday’s win over Ball State.
He then went on to have 13 points and 12 rebounds in Sunday’s win over Green Bay.
On the season, Jones is averaging 13.8 points and 11 rebounds per game and shooting 66.7 percent from the field.
He is the Big Sky leader in rebounding and has four double-doubles on the season, which is tied for the most of any player in the country (as of November 22, 2021). Weber State is 5-0 on the season, the best start since the 1985-86 season.
