Idaho Women’s Basketball Named Commissioner’s Team of the Month

The Vandals went 8-0 in February to run away from the rest of the pack, and secure the No. 1 overall seed in Starch Madness

FARMINGTON, Utah (March 5, 2026) – The Idaho women’s basketball team has been named Big Sky Conference Commissioner’s Team of the Month, the league office announced today, after the Vandals secured a perfect February en route to a regular season title.

The Vandals went 8-0 in February to run away from the rest of the pack, and secure the No. 1 overall seed in Starch Madness, which will begin this weekend.

The month started with the biggest contest during the stretch, as the Vandals knocked off defending champions Montana State in overtime 73-70 inside the ICCU Arena to set the table for their run to the title.

In total, Idaho has won 15 games in a row, a streak that dates back to January 10. That run is tied for the sixth-longest current winning streak in the country right now. The Vandals also tied the school record for most home wins in a season (14) and broke the school record for most conference wins in a season with 17.

In the latest Mid-Major Top 25, the Vandals checked in at No. 16.

Idaho is led by Arthur Moreira, who is in his second season with the program.

The UI offense is paced by Hope Hassmann, who is averaging 14.3 points per game, which ranks eighth in the Big Sky. The Vandals also have a ton of depth, with five different players averaging over 10 points per game.
