Montana State Football Named Commissioner’s Team of the Month for November

After receiving a BYE to the Second Round of the FCS Playoffs, the Bobcats will await the winner of a contest between Youngstown State and Yale

FARMINGTON, Utah (Nov. 28, 2025) – Following an undefeated month of football that culminated with earning the No. 2 seed in the FCS Playoffs, the Montana State Bobcats have been named Commissioner’s Team of the Month for November.

On the first day of the 11th month, the Bobcats turned in a dominating performance against the Northern Colorado Bears with a 55-7 victory on the road. A week later at home, MSU continued to put up big numbers, as they knocked off Weber State 66-14 in Bozeman.

When the calendar turned to November 15, under the lights in Bozeman on ESPN2, the Bobcats picked up a massive victory over No. 9 UC Davis 38-17. The Aggies climbed out to a 7-0 lead in that contest before the Bobcats scored 24-unanswered points to snag every ounce of momentum in front of their home crowd.

The Bobcats concluded their perfect month in Missoula, as they topped No. 2 Montana to claim an outright Big Sky Conference title and keep the Great Divide Trophy in Bozeman. That gave the ‘Cats their third Big Sky title in four seasons. It also marked the first time the road team had won the Brawl of the Wild since 2018, when Montana State won in Missoula.

Montana State finished the regular season with a 10-2 record, and an undefeated mark in Big Sky Conference play at 8-0. The ‘Cats won 10 games in a row after falling to 0-2 to start the season. Montana State has won their last 16 conference games overall in Big Sky play.

When the Big Sky Conference Football All-Conference Team & Individual Awards were announced on Wednesday, the Bobcats featured a trio of individual award winners in Caden Dowler (Defensive Player of the Year), Justin Lamson (Newcomer of the Year) and Brent Vigen (Coach of the Year).

After receiving a BYE to the Second Round of the FCS Playoffs, the Bobcats will await the winner of a contest between Youngstown State and Yale. Montana State would play a home game through the entirety of the FCS Playoffs until the National Championship Game in Nashville.
