FARMINGTON, Utah (July 8, 2025) – After qualifying five student-athletes to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, and finishing 34
th in the country with eight points, Northern Arizona women’s outdoor track & field has been named Big Sky Conference Commissioner’s Team of the Month for June.
At Nationals, the Lumberjacks were paced by a pair of First Team All-Americans.
On the final day of competition, Lumberjack Maggi Congdon had the performance of the meet for the Big Sky Conference, finishing third in the women’s 1,500-meter with a time of 4:09.31. Her placement scored six points for NAU
In the final event of the meet featuring a Big Sky athlete, Northern Arizona’s Agnes McTighe earned First Team All-American status by finishing seventh in the women’s 5,000-meter. She ran a 15:35.87 to claim one of the top eight spots. Her finish was good enough for two additional points in the team standings.
This past May the Lumberjacks won their 16
th Big Sky outdoor title with 222 points in Sacramento.
Northern Arizona’s indoor track & field was named
Team of the Month in February of this year after reaching No. 19 in the nation following a 205-point performance at the Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships in Flagstaff.
