WSU’s Jones Earns Seventh-Career Player of the Week Honor

He currently leads the country in defensive rebounds and is seventh in the nation in overall rebounds at 10.9 per game

FARMINGTON, Utah (February 21, 2023) – For the fourth time this season, and the seventh time of his career, Weber State’s Dillon Jones has been named Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Jones averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game with two double-doubles while leading Weber State to two road wins last week.
 
He had 13 points with 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals in Weber State’s 52-49 win over Sacramento State on Thursday night.
 
The redshirt sophomore followed that up with 18 points, with 15 in the second half, with 13 rebounds, four assists and a steal in Saturday’s 65-57 win at Portland State. In the two games, he shot 50 percent from the field. He has 17 double-doubles on the year, tied for the third-most in the nation.
 
He currently leads the country in defensive rebounds and is seventh in the nation in overall rebounds at 10.9 per game.
