Weber’s Jones Earns Sixth-Career Player of the Week Title

Against Portland state he tied his career-high in assists with eight, while also notching 17 points, 14 rebounds and three steals in just 29 minutes of action

FARMINGTON, Utah (January 24, 2023) – Following another weekend full of impressive numbers, Weber State’s Dillon Jones has been named Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
In home victories over Portland State and Sacramento State, Jones averaged 17.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. He did all that while shooting 52 percent from the field.
 
Against Portland state he tied his career-high in assists with eight, while also notching 17 points, 14 rebounds and three steals in just 29 minutes of action.
 
When the Wildcats took on Sacramento State, he hit the game-winning layup with just six seconds left on the clock.
 
Through the course of the season, he’s tallied 11 double-doubles, which ranks him fifth in the nation. He also is leading the NCAA in defensive rebounds at 10.2 rpg and is fifth for total rebounds.
 
Jones leads the Wildcats in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals.

He has earned six Player of the Week honors in his career with three coming this season.
