FARMINGTON, Utah (December 6, 2022) – Following an impressive individual performance and leading his team to a victory, Eastern Washington guard Steele Venters has been named Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Venters did it all for EWU against North Dakota State and did it incredibly efficiently.
He scored 33 points in the victory, while shooting a scorching hot 74 percent from the field.
Additionally, he had three steals, two blocks, two assists and a rebound for the Eagles.
For Venters, 33 points is a new career high.
He currently ranks ninth in the Big Sky for scoring at 14.9 points per game and is fifth in shooting percentage at 45 percent. Also, Venters ranks fifth in made three-points and 2.3 per contest and 14
th in steals with one per game.
Venters is a redshirt sophomore from Ellensburg, Washington. He was named to the Big Sky Preseason All-Conference Team after being a Second Team All-Big Sky player a season ago.

The 2023 Big Sky Conference Basketball Championships will take place once again in Boise, Idaho, and run from March 4-8 at Idaho Central Arena.
