FARMINGTON, Utah (Feb. 21, 2023) - After successful weeks for Kola Bad Bear (Montana State) and Kahlaijah Dean (Sacramento State), the pair has been named the Big Sky Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday
Co-Player of the Week - Kola Bad Bear (Montana State)
Kola Bad Bear was a key player for Montana State this past weekend as the senior forward helped lead the Bobcats to a win over Montana for the second time this season. Against the Griz, Bad Bear recorded 23 points, four rebounds and had an overall field goal percentage of 82% (9 for 11). The forward also added three steals.
Bad Bear is ranked fifth in the Big Sky for free throw percentage as the Bobcat has made 48 free throws on 57 attempts, giving the forward an overall percentage of 84%.
Co-Player of the Week - Kahlaijah Dean (Sacramento State)
After a successful week for Kahlaijah Dean, the senior guard earned her fifth Big Sky Player of the Week honor of the season after she led Sacramento State to wins over both Weber State and Idaho State. In two games, Dean recorded a total of 48 points as the Hornet put up 19 against the Wildcats and 29 against the Bengals. The senior also added 12 assists, 11 rebounds and two steals to the week as well.
Dean is currently second in the Big Sky in scoring as she has recorded 552 points so far this season and is averaging 21.2 points per game.
