Beyonce Bea Earns Eighth-Career #BigSkyWBB Player of the Week Honor

With help from Bea, Idaho secured a win over Portland State and a tough battle against Sacramento State

FARMINGTON, Utah (Feb. 7, 2023) - For the fourth time this season, and the eighth time in her career, Idaho's Beyonce Bea has been selected as the Big Sky's Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Bea was a key player for Idaho this past week as she helped lead the Vandals to a victory over Portland State and aided in a tough battle against Sacramento State. 

In two games, Bea recorded a grand total of 54 points as she put up 30 points against the Vikings and secured 24 points against the Hornets. Bea also added 10 rebounds in both match-ups for a total of 20 rebounds on the week. The senior averaged 27 points per game and added three assists and one steal to the week as well. 

The Vandal's two double-double performances give her a total of 10 double-doubles on the season and 25 in her career. Bea is tied at the top for double-double performances this season as Sacramento State's Isnelle Natabou and Northern Arizona's Montana Oltrogge both have 10 on the season as well. 

Bea currently leads the league in scoring as she is averaging 21.7 points per game and has recorded 499 points so far this year. The Vandal is eighth in the nation for total points as she is right behind Indiana's Mackenzie Holmes who has 506 total points.

For points per game, Bea is ranked ninth in the NCAA as her 21.7 puts her directly behind Western Michigan's Lauren Ross who is averaging 21.8 ppg.
