FARMINGTON, Utah (Nov. 15, 2022) - After the first week of the 2022-23 women's basketball season, the conference office has announced that Jaydia Martin (Eastern Washington) and Darian White (Montana State) have been selected for this season's first weekly award as they were named the Big Sky Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week.
Co-Player of the Week - Jaydia Martin (Eastern Washington)
Jaydia Martin was a key player for Eastern Washington this past week as she helped the Eagles secure wins against Corban, Boise State and Southern Utah. Martin led the team in scoring with 16.7 points per game and finished the week with an overall total of 50 points. The sophomore is shooting 47.1 percent overall and is 57.1 percent from three-point range. Martin also recorded eight steals, seven assists and nine rebounds in three games this past week.
Co-Player of the Week - Darian White (Montana State)
Darian White helped lead Montana State to a 2-0 record after the Bobcats defeated Providence (Mont.) and BYU. White averaged 14 points, six rebounds, four assists and 2.5 steals per game. For the two games, White shot 58.8% (10-17) from the field and converted 7-of-11 free throws. White had her best game of the week as the Bobcats snapped BYU's 30-game home court win streak. Against the Cougars, the senior posted 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals leading Montana State to its first win in Provo since 2010.
