Jones Secures Another Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Title

The junior from Columbia, S.C. led the Weber State Wildcats to a 2-0 weekend, knocking off Idaho and Eastern Washington on the road

FARMINGTON, Utah (Feb. 20, 2024) – For the seventh time this season, and the 15th time in his impressive Weber State University career, Wildcat Dillon Jones has been named Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Jones was also named Lou Henson National Player of the Week by College Insider Inc.
 
The junior from Columbia, S.C. led the Weber State Wildcats to a 2-0 weekend, knocking off Idaho and Eastern Washington on the road. 
 
Against the Vandals, Jones finished with 29 points, nine assists and six rebounds. He shot 12-of-13 from the FT line in the contest. With 1:24 to play, the Wildcats trailed by seven points. WSU climbed back, forcing multiple turnovers, and Jones won the game at the charity stripe with seven seconds to play hitting 2-of-2. 
 
Against the Eagles, who have been the top team in the Big Sky Standings since January, Jones had 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists while navigating WSU to a road victory. 
 
He finished the weekend with averages of 29.5 PPG, 7.0 RPG and 8.5 APG. He shot 89% from the FT line and 51% from the field. 
 
The Wildcats have won six-consecutive contests after starting conference play 3-5, they are now 9-5.
