#BigSkyTennis Weekly Honors Awarded to Idaho State, Northern Arizona

Idaho State's Wikus Robbertse picked up three singles wins for the Bengals this past week,

FARMINGTON, Utah (Feb. 14, 2024) – Idaho State's Wikus Robbertse and Northern Arizona's Patrycja Niewiadomska were awarded Big Sky Tennis Player of the Week honors following their efforts over the weekend. 

Men's Tennis Player the Week: Wikus Robbertse, Idaho State
Idaho State's Wikus Robbertse picked up three singles wins for the Bengals this past week, as he led his squad to a 2-1 mark over the weekend which included the program's first-ever victory against Air Force. 

Robbertse, hailing from South Africa, won all three singles matches in straight-sets at the No. 6 spot. The biggest win over the weekend came against Air Force, as he tied the match at 3-3 before Hiroki Fujita clinched the 4-3 win against the Falcons. 

The conference weekly honor for Robbertse is the second of his career overall. 

Women's Tennis Player the Week: Patrycja Niewiadomska, Northern Arizona
Northern Arizona's Patrycja Niewiadomska went 4-0 overall this past week, as the sophomore won a pair of singles and doubles matches for the Lumberjacks. 

Niewiadomska won both singles matches at the No. 1 spot in the lineup, winning against UTEP and Wyoming in straight-sets. Alongside partner Laura Duhl, Niewiadomska won two doubles matches at the No. 2 position against the Miners and Cowgirls. 

Niewiadomska, who was named the Big Sky Women's Tennis Freshman of the Year in 2023, has now won conference weekly honors twice in her career.
