FARMINGTON, Utah (Jan. 17, 2024) – Montana State's Max Relic and Meg McCarty were honored with the first Big Sky Tennis Player of the Week honors of 2024, as the duo posted an undefeated weekend for their Bobcat squads.
Men's Tennis Player the Week: Max Relic, Montana State
A sophomore from London, Max Relic won two singles matches and a pair of doubles contests without dropping a set as Montana State opened its season with wins over UC Riverside and Seattle.
Playing at the No. 1 singles spot, Relic topped UC Riverside's Joshua Roth 6-2, 6-1 on Friday, then beat Seattle's Julian Worn 6-4, 6-4 on Sunday. He teamed with Andras Necz
to win 6-4 over UCR's pair at No. 1 doubles on Friday, before joining Andre Stewart to down Seattle's tandem 6-4 on Sunday.
The wins for Montana State were its first dual victories as a team since 2022, after the Bobcats played only two matches last season due to injuries and other extenuating circumstances.
