FARMINGTON, Utah (May 1, 2023) – As the regular season begins to wind down, and championship season is in sight, the Big Sky Conference has announced the winners of its regular Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards.
Track & Field Athlete of the Week titles are awarded on weeks where four or more teams compete throughout the indoor and outdoor campaign.
Women’s Track Athletes of the Week – NAU 4x100 Meter Relay Team
Breaking a school record and setting the standard for the Big Sky to this point of the season, Northern Arizona’s women’s 4x100-meter relay team has earned the designation of Women’s Track Athletes of the Week.
The squad comprised of Alyssa Colbert, Kyairra Reigh, Kenya Coburn and LiNay Perry ran a 44.67 at the Desert Heat Classic to secure the top spot in the Big Sky rankings to this part of the season.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week – Destinee Rose-Haas, Idaho State
Setting the new league standard in the hammer throw, Idaho State’s Destinee Rose-Haas is the Big Sky’s Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Rose-Haas threw a 62.68m (205’ 8”) at the 2023 Bengal Invitational to take the league lead by five meters.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week – Colin Sahlman, Northern Arizona
Running the best men’s 800-meter in the Big Sky so far this season, Northern Arizona’s Colin Sahlman has been named Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.
Sahlman threw down a 1:46.99 at the Desert Heat Classic, rising to the top of the league list for the Lumberjacks.
His mark was also the second-fastest time in school history.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week – Evan Todd, Montana
Winning his fifth meet of the season and staying on top of the Big Sky leaderboard for men’s javelin, Montana’s Evan Todd has been named Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Todd threw a mark of 69.06m (226’ 7”) at the 2023 Bengal Invitational to hold the top spot in the Big Sky.
