FARMINGTON, Utah (March 27, 2023) – The Lumberjacks of Northern Arizona have swept the Big Sky’s Outdoor Track & Field Men’s and Women’s Athlete of the Week awards, the league office announced this morning.
Track & Field Athlete of the Week titles are awarded on weeks where four or more teams compete throughout the indoor and outdoor campaign.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week – Alyssa Colbert, Northern Arizona
Running a 11.46 at the 2023 Willie Williams Classic has earned Northern Arizona’s Alyssa Colbert Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.
The time is the best in the Big Sky to this point of the season in the event and ranks her 23
rd in the NCAA.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week – Jade Kwinn, Northern Arizona
Securing the top javelin throw in the Big Sky to this point of the season, Northern Arizona’s Jade Kwinn has been named Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Kwinn hit a mark of 48.76m (160’ 0”) to claim the current top spot in the league standings.
She is currently ranked 24
th in the entire NCAA for the event.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week – David Dunlap, Northern Arizona
Clocking the best 200-meter time in the Big Sky so far this year, Northern Arizona’s David Dunlap has been named Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.
Dunlap secured a 20.65 at the 2023 Willie Williams Classic, and he also moved into seventh nationally.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week – Mitchell Effing, Northern Arizona
After performing the top long jump in the Big Sky to this point of the season, Northern Arizona’s Mitchell Effing has been named Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Effing leaped 7.79m (25’ 6.75”) at the 2023 Willie Williams Classic to set the top mark by over a foot.
He is also currently ranked sixth in the NCAA for the event.
