FARMINGTON, Utah (March 20, 2023) – For the first time this outdoor campaign, the Big Sky Conference office has announced the winners of its Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards which have been split between three separate institutions.
Track & Field Athlete of the Week titles are awarded on weeks where four or more teams compete throughout the indoor and outdoor campaign.
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week – Drew Bosley, Northern Arizona
Running the best 5K in the NCAA so far this outdoor campaign, Northern Arizona’s Drew Bosley has been named the Big Sky’s Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.
Fresh off a double at the 2023 Indoor Track & Field National Championships, Bosley threw down a 13:37.77 at the GCU Invitational to outpace the entire nation to this point.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week – John Murphy, Northern Arizona
With the top hammer throw in the Big Sky so far this season, NAU’s John Murphy has earned the league’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week award.
Murphy threw the hammer 64.75m (212’ 5”) to claim the top spot in the big Sky and sit 12
th in the NCAA.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week – Caroline Hawkes, Montana State
Running the best 400-meter time in the league and putting herself 22
nd in the nation, Montana State’s Caroline Hawkes has been named Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.
With a 54.80 at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Meet, Hawkes recorded the fifth-fastest time in Montana State history.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week – Hally Ruff, Eastern Washington
With the top pole vault in the Big Sky and the 10
th best in the NCAA, Eastern Washington’s Hally Ruff has been named Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.
At the Oregon Preview, Ruff cleared 4.05m (13’ 3.5”) to start her outdoor season off on the right foot.
This mark put her 10
th all-time at Eastern Washington.
