Idaho State Trio Headline Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors

Setting a pair of Big Sky leading marks, Idaho State’s Destinee Rose-Haas is the league’s Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah (April 10, 2023) – The Big Sky Conference office has announced its most recent round of Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards, three of which were awarded to Idaho State Bengals this time around.
 
Track & Field Athlete of the Week titles are awarded on weeks where four or more teams compete throughout the indoor and outdoor campaign.
 
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week – Raphael Egbuchilem, Northern Colorado
 
After running the fastest men’s 100-meter dash in the Big Sky so far this season, Northern Colorado’s Raphael Egbuchilem has been named Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.
 
He ran the 100-meter in 10.52 (converted from 10.49) to set the league standard to this point.
 
Additionally, he ran the second-fastest time in the Big Sky for the men’s 200-meter with a 21.21 (converted from 21.14).

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week – Zack Ramos, Idaho State
 
Finding success in multiple field events this weekend, Idaho State’s Zack Ramos is the Big Sky’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
 
In the shot put, Ramos hit a 17.72m (58-1.75), which would be the top mark in the league had he not thrown an 18.15 at the Bobcat Invitational earlier this season.
 
Ramos also competed in the discus, where he secured a 50.43m (165-5) to move into fifth place in the league standings.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week – Kyndal Martin, Idaho State
 
Securing the top 100-meter hurdle mark in the Big Sky this season, ISU’s Kyndal Martin has been named Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Martin ran a 14.05 (converted from 14.01) to know own the top 100-meter hurdle and 400-meter hurdles time in the league to this point of the season.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week – Destinee Rose-Haas, Idaho State
 
Setting a pair of Big Sky leading marks, Idaho State’s Destinee Rose-Haas is the league’s Women’s Field Athlete of the Week.
 
She secured the top spot in the hammer throw with a mark of 58.82m (193-0) which was the second-best in Idaho State history.
 
In the women’s discus, she had a mark of 48.50m (159-1) which is the top in the Big Sky by over 12 feet.
