Eagle Duo Highlights Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

n the 200-meter, Dunlap finished third with a personal best time of 20.38, which ranks him with the fastest time in the Big Sky, fifth in the west region and 13th overall in the nation for the event.

FARMINGTON, Utah (April 17, 2023) – The Big Sky Conference office announced its Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards on Monday, with Eastern Washington sweeping both field honors on the men's and women's side to highlight the laurels.

Track & Field Athlete of the Week titles are awarded on weeks where four or more teams compete throughout the indoor and outdoor campaign.
 
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week – David Dunlap (Northern Arizona)
David Dunlap was named the Big Sky Men's Track Athlete of the Week following his outstanding performance at the Mt. SAC Relays this past weekend. Dunlap competed in three events over the weekend, running in the 100-meter, the 200-meter invitational, and the 400-meter. His time of 10.39 in the 100-meter qualifying round was the second fastest of the round and put him at the top of the conference in the event. In the 200-meter, Dunlap finished third with a personal best time of 20.38, which ranks him with the fastest time in the Big Sky, fifth in the west region and 13th overall in the nation for the event. The weekly honor is the second so far this season for Dunlap, since winning last on March 27th.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week – Bobby Say (Eastern Washington)
Bobby Say was named the Big Sky Men's Field Athlete of the Week after setting new career marks and pushing his way up the conference list. On Thursday at the Pacific Coast Invitational, he finished 4th in the long jump at 7.51 meters (24' 7.75"), good for 2nd in the Big Sky this season, 64th in NCAA D-I and 5th all-time by an Eagle. He followed that up with a monster triple jump at the Beach Invitational on Saturday, clearing 15.61 meters (51' 2.75") which ranks 1st in the Big Sky and 31st in NCAA D-I, as well as 5th in EWU history. Say won the triple jump and finished 4th in the long jump at the conference indoor championships in February.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week – Camila Noe (Montana State)
Camila Noe was named the Big Sky Women's Track Athlete of the Week after another successful meet for the Bobcats. Noe finished seventh in the 10,000-meter at the Bryan Clay Invite in Southern California, with a time of 33:00.41. That mark ranks second overall this season in the Big Sky and sits second all-time in the Montana State history books for the event.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week – Hally Ruff (Eastern Washington)
Hally Ruff was named the Big Sky Women's Field Athlete of the Week following a new personal best over the weekend in the pole vault. The fifth-year Eagle cleared 4.07 meters (13' 4.25") to earn 10th at the Beach Invitational meet at Long Beach State University in Southern California. The mark sits atop the Big Sky's 2023 outdoor performance list, ranks 43rd in NCAA Division I this season and places Ruff at seventh in EWU's all-time records.
