FARMINGTON, Utah (March 8, 2023) – The Big Sky Conference office has announced the winners of its weekly Women’s and Men’s Golfer of the Week awards, which have been given to Sacramento State and Weber State respectively.
Both teams also took home team championships, led by the league award winners.
Co-Women’s Golfer of the Week – Tess Blair & Caitlin Maurice, Sacramento State
After finishing in a tie for fifth, Sacramento State’s Tess Blair and Caitlin Maurice both shot five-over to pace Sacramento State to a team victory and have been named Co-Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Blair’s third round was the best of the tournament, carding a three-under 69 to finish strong.
The Hornets shot an 882 as a team, outpacing the rest of the field by seven strokes to win the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.

Men’s Golfer of the Week – Brendan Thomas, Weber State
Shooting a nine-under to finish in a tie for fourth, Weber State’s Brendan Thomas is the Big Sky Men’s Golfer of the Week.
After shooting back-to-back 70’s, he closed out the HCU-Colin Montgomerie Invitational with a 67 to help secure his squad a victory.
As a unit, the Wildcats shot a 845 to win and outpaced the field by six strokes.
