Second-Straight Individual Victory Earns MSU’s Weidig Velazquez Women’s Golfer of the Week

She won the Eagle Invitational, hosted by Eastern Washington in Spokane, where she shot a one-under 215 (70, 71, 74) to outpace a field stacked with Big Sky Conference golfers

FARMINGTON, Utah (September 29, 2022) – Becoming the first Bobcat to win back-to-back individual titles this century, Montana State’s Scarlet Weidig Velazquez has been named Big Sky Women’s Golfer of the Week for the second-consecutive week.  
 
She won the Eagle Invitational, hosted by Eastern Washington in Spokane, where she shot a one-under 215 (70, 71, 74) to outpace a field stacked with Big Sky Conference golfers.
 
This was only her second collegiate tournament, meaning she’s claimed victories in her first two starts on the NCAA circuit.
