Portland State Hosts Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championships

The meet will stream live on ESPN+ all four days of competition

PORTLAND, Ore. (May 12, 2026) – For the first time since 201,3 Portland State will host the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, with the 2026 edition of the meet being held Mt. Hood Community College from Wednesday, May 13 to Saturday, May 16.
 
The meet will stream live on ESPN+ all four days of competition.
 
Portland Rewind
 
When the Vikings last hosted in 2013, each team title was won by a different school. Northern Arizona claimed the men’s title, while Sacramento State was victorious on the women’s side.
 
Lumberjack Men Seeking Repeat
 
The Northern Arizona men’s team will be looking for back-to-back titles this week after claiming the 2025 team championship in Sacramento. The Lumberjacks have won four of the previous five available titles, with Montana State claiming one in Bozeman in 2024.
 
NAU was ranked as high as No. 17 during the course of the season and currently sit right outside of the Top 25 as the No. 29 team in the country.
 
NAU Women Eyeing Sixth Straight Trophy
 
On the women’s side, the Lumberjacks will be seeking their sixth-straight Big Sky title, and ninth in the previous 10 seasons. Dating back to 2016, the Lumberjacks have won all but one conference team title. It was Sacramento State who snapped the streak back in 2019.
 
The Lumberjack women climbed up to No. 30 nationally during the course of the regular season and currently check in at No. 57.
