FARMINGTON, Utah (Oct. 11, 2022) – Portland State's Ocean Rideout and the Northern Arizona duo of Maddie Shafer and Trinity Corcoran earned Big Sky Soccer Player of the Week honors, as the trio helped their squads continue win streaks over the weekend.
Co-Offensive Player of the Week – Ocean Rideout (Portland State)/Maddie Shafer (NAU)
Ocean Rideout led Portland State to a pair of wins over Idaho State and Weber State, as the freshman scored the game-winning goal in both matches. The freshman has scored three goals on the year, with her last goal prior to this weekend coming against Western Oregon.
Maddie Shafer helped extend Northern Arizona's win streak to three matches, after scoring game-winning goals for the Lumberjacks against Eastern Washington and Idaho. Shafer has scored five goals and added four assists on the year to lead NAU. The junior currently leads the Big Sky in points this season with 14.
Defensive Player of the Week – Trinity Corcoran (NAU)
Trinity Corcoran tallied a pair of shutouts over the weekend for Northern Arizona as she logged her sixth clean sheet of the season overall. Corcoran made six saves against Eastern Washington and four against Idaho to push her save percentage to 87.2% on the year which ranks second in the league and 17th in the nation.
