FARMINGTON, Utah (Oct. 4, 2022) – After a great week on the pitch, the Idaho Vandals swept the Big Sky Soccer Player of the Week honors, as midfielder Margo Schoesler and defender Cassidy Elicker collected the weekly awards.
Offensive Player of the Week – Margo Schoesler (Idaho)
Idaho midfielder Margo Schoesler won her first Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week for 2022 after scoring one goal and setting up another game-winner for the Vandals this past weekend. The junior's first goal of the weekend came against Montana, as she nailed a late penalty kick to give Idaho the 1-0 victory. The Vandals finished the weekend 2-0 with victories against the Griz and Northern Colorado.
Defensive Player of the Week – Cassidy Elicker (Idaho)
Idaho defender Cassidy Elicker won her first Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week laurel of the season, as the sophomore helped the Vandal backline continue its NCAA-leading shutout streak. Elicker and the Vandals posted two shutouts over Montana and Northern Colorado as the Vandals pick up their fourth defensive weekly award of the year and second-straight overall.
