NAU’s Cornfield Named Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year

Cornfield is in his first season as Director of Cross Country and Track & Field

FARMINGTON, Utah (Mar. 6, 2026) – After his Lumberjacks swept the 2026 Indoor Track & Field Championships in Pocatello, Idaho, Northern Arizona’s Jarred Cornfield has been named Men’s and Women’s Coach of the Year.
 
The No. 22-ranked NAU men scored 200 points en roue to their 14th title in a row, as they outscored the next closest team by over 100 points.
 
On the women’s side, NAU scored 164.5 points to outpace Montana State, who finished with 135.
 
Cornfield is in his first season as Director of Cross Country and Track & Field for Northern Arizona, marking this the first time he’s earned these titles. This was a unanimous decision amongst the league's head coaches. 
 
He was also named Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year this past winter.
