Combined Events Medals Awarded on Second Day of 2025 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (May 15, 2025) – Two sets of medals were handed out on Thursday at the 2025 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hornet Stadium, as the combined events are in the books and a full meet program awaits on Friday and Saturday.
 
Montana’s Whitney Morrison was the gold medalist in the women’s heptathlon, scoring 5,389 across all seven events. She was also the Big Sky’s indoor pentathlon champion this past winter. At the 2024 championships, she was the bronze medalist with a score of 5,112.
 
For Morrison, that marked a personal best in the heptathlon.
 
Idaho State’s Kylee Dimick finished second with a score of 5,181 and Sacramento State’s Eliana Coburn finished in third with a 5,068.
 
In the men’s decathlon, Idaho State freshman Tom Stoelken took home the gold medal with a score of 6,770, competing in his first Big Sky outdoor championship. He finished in third place indoors in the men’s heptathlon.
 
Montana State’s Mathias Mees was the runner-up, scoring 6,704 points and Sacramento State’s Jack Charlton finished in third with a final score of 6,470.
 
Competition will continue tomorrow, with action starting at 12 p.m. PT. The broadcast will go live on ESPN+ at 1 p.m. PT.
