FARMINGTON, Utah (May 12, 2025) – For the final time this academic year, the Big Sky Conference has announced its Outdoor Track & Fild Athlete of the Week awards ahead of its 2025 championship meet in Sacramento this week.
 
Big Sky Track & Field Athletes of the Week (May 12, 2025)

Men's Track Athlete of the Week: Sam Ells, Montana State (Jr., Kalispell, Mont.)
Montana State’s Sam Ells clocked an altitude-converted time of 3:38.19 in the 1,500 meters on Friday at the Tom Gage Classic in Bozeman, winning the race and climbing to No. 3 all-time in Montana State history. This performance earned him Big Sky Men’s Track Athlete of the Week honors. Ells ranks second in the Big Sky this year and No. 33 in NCAA Division I. He’s the second Bobcat to earn the honor this season, joining Rob McManus.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week: Colby Wilson, Montana State (Gr., Olympia, Wash.)
For the third time this season, Montana State’s Colby Wilson has been named Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. Wilson won the pole vault at the Tom Gage Classic in Bozeman on Friday, clearing a bar at 5.29 meters (17-04.25). The four-time Big Sky champion currently ranks No. 28 in NCAA Division I thanks to an earlier mark of 17-08.25.

Women's Track Athlete of the Week: Kyla Christopher-Moody, Montana State (Gr., Royal Oak, Mich.)
Also for the third time this campaign, Montana State’s Kyla Christopher-Moody has been named Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. Christopher-Moody won the 1,500 meters at the Tom Gage Classic in Bozeman on Friday, crossing the line with an altitude-converted time of 4:19.54, just a second slower than her own school record that she set in March. The graduate student has set four school records this year--two indoors and two outdoors.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week: Megan Bell, Montana State (Fr., Ann Arbor, Mich.)
Wrapping up her first collegiate outdoor regular season, Montana State’s Megan Bell has been named Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for her performance in the pole vault. Bell won the event at the Tom Gage Classic in Bozeman on Friday, clearing a bar at 4.17 meters (13-08.25). The mark now leads the Big Sky Conference and pushes the freshman up to No. 3 all-time in Montana State history.
