FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Feb. 28, 2025) – Two days are in the books with one remaining at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome, with the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks leading the charge on both the men’s and women’s sides.
A new Big Sky Conference record was set on Friday, when Montana State’s Hailey Coey jumped 21’ 0.5” in the women’s long jump to set an all-time and meet record. The leap also put her No. 17 in the nation and came on her final attempt after running in an event on the track.
In the men’s weight throw, Northern Arizona’s Desmond Lott had a throw of 74’ 11” to set a new Big Sky Conference Championship Record, topping teammate Garret Bernt’s mark from last season.
Northern Arizona flexed its distance muscles to wrap up the meet, as they swept both the 5,000-meter and the distance medley relay.
The multis wrapped up earlier in the day, as Montana State’s Nicola Paletti secured back-to-back men’s heptathlon medals at Big Sky Championships.
The Big Sky Indoor Championships will continue at 10 a.m. MT tomorrow morning with events scheduled until 2:30 p.m. MT. Following that, two Big Sky Conference trophies will be handed out.
