Meet Schedule
FARMINGTON, Utah (Feb. 25, 2025) – The Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships will return to Flagstaff, Arizona this weekend for the first time since 2018, as the best and brightest stars the league has to offer will compete under the lights inside the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome.
The meet will take place from Thursday, February 27 to Saturday, March 1.
Decade-Plus of Dominance
Northern Arizona’s men’s indoor track and field team has won every title available in the Big Sky Conference since 2012, claiming 12-consecutive titles.
Potential Five-Peat
Northern Arizona’s women have claimed four-consecutive titles and will be seeking their fifth in a row this weekend at home in Flagstaff.
No. 19-Ranked Lumberjacks
The Lumberjack women will enter the meet as the No. 19 team in the entire nation. They are ranked ahead of teams like Notre Dame (20), Clemson (21) and Alabama (22).
Re-Writing History in Flagstaff
Northern Arizona had a pair of student-athletes that have both broke a pair of Big Sky Conference records during the course of the season.
On the women’s side, Elise Stearns set the new league standard in both the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter. In the 3K she ran an 8:41.07, and in the 5K she ran a 15:21.43. She’s ranked No. 3 and No. 9 in the nation for the two events respectively.
On the men’s side, Colin Sahlman has set the tone for the Lumberjacks with new top marks in the 800-meter and the mile.
Raising the Bar in Bozeman
The Montana State Bobcats have seen a pair of student-athletes break Big Sky records in respect to women’s field. Jumper Hailey Coey set the new league standard in the women’s long jump, leaping 20-10.75 this season. Her teammate, Shelby Schweyen, had the best pentathlon performance in Big Sky history, scoring a 4,183.
Reigning Most Valuable Athlete
For Northern Colorado, Jerome Campbell returns to the track this weekend as the reigning Big Sky Men’s Most Valuable Athlete. This past weekend, he broke his own record in the men’s 60-meter hurdles, running a 7.55. That mark puts him fifth in the nation for the event currently.
