Sacramento State Leads Men’s Golf Championship Through 36 Holes

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. (Apr. 24, 2024) – All four teams have played 36 holes at the 2024 Big Sky Conference Men’s Golf Championship at The Wigwam, where Sacramento State holds the lead with one day remaining.
 
The Hornets shot 3-under on Wednesday, bringing their two-round total to a 10-under 566 (281, 286). They hold a four-shot lead over the Weber State Wildcats, who charged into second place today by shooting 6-under to stand with a 570 (288, 282) for the tournament.
 
Idaho (-2) and Northern Colorado (+8) round out the team standings in third and fourth respectively.
 
On the individual leaderboard there is a tie between Idaho’s Joe Sykes and Weber State’s Brendan Thomas for the top spot, as both are 5-under with one round to play.
 
Thomas carded a 4-under 68 on Wednesday, which tied him for the best round of the day.
 
Thursday’s third and final round will begin at 7:30 a.m. MT / 6:30 a.m. PT. The winning team will represent the Big Sky Conference at NCAA Regional competition. If the individual winner is not from the winning team, they will play in NCAA Regionals as an individual.
