Sacramento State Named Men’s Golf Favorites in Return to Big Sky Conference

Sac State received five of the available first-place votes, making them unanimous favorites

FARMINGTON, Utah (Aug. 21, 2025) – After going a year without the sport, the Big Sky Conference office released the results of its 2025-26 Men’s Golf Preseason Coaches’ Poll, which tabs the Sacramento State Hornets as league favorites.

This poll is voted on by the league’s head coaches. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own teams.

Back in May, the Big Sky announced the sport would return with Eastern Washinton, Francis Marion, Idaho, Northern Colorado, Sacramento State and Weber State all representing the conference.

The Hornets won the most recent Big Sky title in 2024. Last season, they finished ninth at the Big West Championship.

Sac State received five of the available first-place votes, making them unanimous favorites.

Idaho was tabbed second, receiving one first-place vote. The Northern Colorado Bears rounded out the top half with 13 points.

The full results of the poll can be found below.
