The No. 1 ranked Lumberjack men secured 190 points en route to claiming their 12
th straight indoor title.
“It looks like on the point totals we win by a lot, but that’s because we ask our people to put it all out there for this meet,” Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Mike Smith said. “NAU’s always done that and always will.”
NAU has now won 26 all-time indoor titles on the men’s side.
Breaking their own conference scoring record with 204 total points, the women’s team secured their fourth-consecutive Big Sky indoor title.
NAU was paced by Most Valuable Athlete Madeline Wilson, who scored a meet-high 28.5 points.
“This has been an epic year for her,” Smith said. “We’ve had historical sprinters in the conference, so when she’s running all those past champions it says a lot. She’s been a great leader for us, and I was happy to see her recognized like she was.
The Lumberjacks have now secured 16 indoor titles on the women’s side.
For the Big Sky’s top athletes, the 2024 Division I Indoor Track & Field National Championships will take place from March 8-9 in Boston, Massachusetts.
