Montana State, Sacramento State Earn XC Athlete of the Week Nods

Finishing in 11th amongst a stacked field at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational, Montana State’s Ben Perrin has been named Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah (Oct. 3, 2023) – For the fourth time this season the Big Sky Conference office has awarded its Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week titles, which this week have been given to Montana State and Sacramento State respectively.
 
Men’s Athlete of the Week – Ben Perrin, Montana State

Finishing in 11th amongst a stacked field at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational, Montana State’s Ben Perrin has been named Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
 
Perrin paced the Bobcats in the men's 5-mile race with a personal-best time of 23:44.3.
 
The redshirt junior helped MSU place ninth as a team.

Women’s Athlete of the Week Molly Latincsics, Sacramento State
 
After becoming the first Sacramento State Hornet to win any women’s cross country race since 2018, Molly Latincsics has been named Big Sky Women’s Athlete of the Week.
 
Latincsics finished first at the Pacific Invitational on Friday night in Lodi, Calif., to earn her first collegiate victory. Latincsics completed the 6K course in 20:42.6 to win the event by four seconds over Saint Mary's Rayna Stanziano.
 
The last Sacramento State woman to win a 6K race was Chloe Berlioux at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Oct. 17, 2015.
