Final Results
COLUMBIA, Mo. (Nov. 22, 2025) – The 2025 men’s and women’s cross country season came to a close today at the NCAA Division I National Championships at Gans Creek Cross Country Course, with Big Sky Conference student-athletes showing out on the sport’s biggest stage.
The Women’s Championship 6K was first up in Missouri, where the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks finished in eighth.
Hayley Burns, the Big Sky individual champion, earned All-American status by finishing in 32
nd place. Burns crossed the finish line in 19:15.4.
Two other Lumberjacks claimed All-American status on the women’s side, with Ava Mitchell (37
th) and Agnes McTighe (38
th) both earning the designation by finishing in the top-40. Mitchell ran a time of 19:18.8 and McTighe finished the course in 19:19.8.
Northern Arizona came into the meet ranked No. 14 in the NCAA, erasing six spots to finish in eighth and secure a top-10 ranking to end the season.
In the Men’s Championship 10K, the Lumberjacks finished in eighth place after losing a tiebreaker to Virginia for the seventh spot.
With a fantastic individual performance, Northern Arizona’s Colin Sahlman finished 16
th in a time of 28:51.6. That finish made him an All-American as well. Sahlman was also the Big Sky individual champion.
The Lumberjacks were ranked No. 9 coming in, finishing one spot above expectations.
Running as an individual, Weber State’s Peter Visser completed the best performance of his career on this stage with a 35
th place finish to stamp cross country All-American on his resume. He was making his third-consecutive appearance in the meet. He became just the sixth Wildcat in history to earn All-American designation in the sport.
