FARMINGTON, Utah (Sept. 26, 2023) – As its teams continue to make national headlines, Northern Arizona has swept the weekly Big Sky Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week awards for the second time this season, the league office announced today.
Men’s Athlete of the Week – Drew Bosley, Northern Arizona
Northern Arizona’s Drew Bosley has been named Big Sky Conference Men’s XC Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Virginia Invitational. This marks the second weekly award for him this year so far.
Bosley finished the 8K course in 23:20.3, which put three seconds of separation between him and the second finisher. He’s now claimed the individual victory in both meets he’s participated in to this point of the season.
No. 1 NAU won the meet with 71 points, outpacing BYU (101) and North Carolina (157).
Bosley was also named National Men’s Athlete of the Week by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Women’s Athlete of the Week – Elise Stearns, Northern Arizona
Becoming the second Lumberjack this season to claim the title, Northern Arizona’s Elise Stearns has been named Women’s Athlete of the Week following her Virginia Invitational showing.
Stearns claimed the individual victory with a 5K time of 16:18.9.
The No. 2-ranked Lumberjacks claimed the team win as well with a score of just 48 points.
