Makoto Ohara won back-to-back Big Sky Tennis Player of the Week laurels, while Montana's Sam Baldwin won on the men's side to give the Grizzlies their second-straight weekly honor of the year.
Men's Tennis Player of the Week - Sam Baldwin (Montana)
In addition to making
SportsCenter's Top 10 plays, Montana's Sam Baldwin had a very impressive week on the court after going 4-0 in a three-match road trip for the Griz. Baldwin won three singles matches in straight sets, while also earning a victory in doubles play with partner Baltazar Wiger-Nordas. Montana won three 7-0 matches over the weekend, with one of those being an out-of-conference contest against Eastern Washington.
Women's Tennis Player of the Week - Makoto Ohara (Portland State)
Portland State's Makoto Ohara earned her second-straight weekly honor after leading the Vikings to a 5-2 win over Seattle this past Saturday. Ohara was the only Viking to go 2-0 on the day against the Redhawks, following a 6-4 win with partner Elizabeth Strongina in doubles and a 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (8) victory at No. 5 singles to close out the day.
