FARMINGTON, Utah (December 12, 2022) – For the first time this 2022-23 season, the Big Sky Conference has awarded its annual Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week titles.
Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards are awarded on weeks where four or more teams compete throughout the indoor and outdoor campaign.
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week – Jerome Campbell, Northern Colorado
Setting a brand new Big Sky Conference record to kick off award season, Northern Colorado’s Jerome Campbell has been named Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.
Campbell ran a 7.71 in finals at Purdue’s Edmonds-Wilt Invitational, which makes him No. 2 in the NCAA this season and broke Tanner Conner’s previous record that was set from Idaho State in 2020.
He also ran the 60-meter dash in 6.80.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week – Caleb Whitney, Weber State
Starting his Big Sky title defense, Caleb Whitney has been named the league’s Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
He competed in the Heptathlon, scoring a 5,281 at the BYU December Invite.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week – Regina Mpigachai, Northern Colorado
Breaking her second school record in the past two weeks, Northern Colorado’s Regina Mpigachai has been named Big Sky Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.
She ran a 4:47.20 in the mile, which is currently the No. 3 mark in the NCAA Mountain Region to this point of the season.
She was also a member of UNC’s 1,600-meter relay team, which ran a 3:52.29 after conversions that would be No. 2 in the Mountain Region

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week – Lucy Corbett, Montana State
A reigning All-American, Montana State’s Lucy Corbett has been named Big Sky Women’s Field Athlete of the Week following the Bobcat Preview.
She cleared 1.85m (6-0.75) this weekend, making her one of just three collegiates that has cleared six feet this season.
