FARMINGTON, Utah (Sept. 3, 2026) – The Big Sky Conference office has released the results of its 2026-27 Men’s and Women’s Golf Preseason Coaches’ Polls, with Idaho being named men’s favorites and Northern Arizona being selected to repeat as women’s champions.

For the 2026-27 season the Big Sky will feature seven teams on the men’s side and 11 on the women’s side with the addition of Southern Utah and Utah Tech.
These polls were voted on by the league’s head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own teams.
In the men’s poll, the Idaho Vandals received five of the seven available first-place votes to end up the favorites for the upcoming season. The Vandals were the runner-up at the 2026 Big Sky Men’s Golf Championship, shooting 14-under through the course of three rounds. Idaho finished behind only Sacramento State in that tournament, who has since departed the Big Sky Conference.
Northern Colorado was selected second on the men’s side, while newcomer Utah Tech was tabbed third. Both received a first-place vote.
On the women’s side, the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks were voted to repeat as Big Sky Conference champions, after securing the title this past April. The Lumberjacks shot 5-under in the tournament to claim their second title in five seasons.
Montana State, who has featured the Big Sky individual champion in back-to-back seasons, received a pair of first-place votes and was selected second in the Big Sky. Northern Colorado, who was last season’s runner-up, was voted third and received the last available first-place vote.
