LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. (April 14, 2025) – One round is in the books, with two to play at the 2025 Big Sky Conference Women’s Golf Championship.
After 18 holes of action, the Sacramento State Hornets leads the tournament by five strokes. They shot a 2-under 282 on Monday to hold the advantage over the Montana State Bobcats, who shot a 3-over 287.
Sacramento State is the two-time defending Big Sky champion, while the Bobcats are seeking their first conference title since 1995.
The Hornets and Bobcats will be joined in the final tee time on Tuesday by the Montana Grizzlies, who shot a 11-over 295 on Monday to sit third after 18 holes.
On the individual leaderboard, Big Sky Freshman of the Year Darla May Dela Torre leads the event after shooting a 3-under 68 in her first round of championship golf.
In second, both carding 2-under on Monday, is Eastern Washington’s Gabriella Ilardi and Montana State’s Scarlet Weidig.
The par-71 course played a little challenging on Monday, as the average score on the day was a 75.22.
Sacramento State took advantage of the par-5 holes, shooting 9-under on them on Monday. Montana State held serve on par-4 holes, shooting a tournament-best even par. The Bobcats racked up a tournament-high 17 birdies on Monday, while the Hornets matched their efforts in terms of pars with 58.
The second round is set to begin at 6:30 a.m. PT tomorrow morning.
