Northern Arizona’s Smith Named Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year

It marks Smith’s eighth men’s honor, and seventh women’s honor

FARMINGTON, Utah (Mar. 7, 2025) – After his teams swept the Big Sky Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships for the fifth-consecutive season, Northern Arizona's Mike Smith has been named Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year.
 
It marks Smith's eighth men's honor, and seventh women's honor. The decision was unaniomous by his peers. 
 
For NAU's men, the victory marked the 13th consecutive season that they've earned a Big Sky Conference Championship, with this one coming on their home track for the first time since 2018.
 
Northern Arizona's Drew Bosley was named Men's Most Valuable Athlete for the meet after scoring 28 points. He won both the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter, along with finishing second in the mile.
 
For the Lumberjack women, it was their fifth title in a row.
 
NAU's LiNay Perry was named Women's Most Valuable Athlete, scoring 22.5 points with victories in the 200-meter and 400-meter. Her time of 52.27 in the women's 400 set a new Big Sky Conference All-Time record. She was also Most Outstanding Performer for her 400-meter time.
