Northern Arizona Women’s XC Climbs to No. 6 Nationally

The Lumberjacks will be back on the course for competition on Friday, October 17 for the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin

FARMINGTON, Utah (Oct. 2, 2025) – The Week Two edition of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National XC Poll has been released, with both programs from Northern Arizona retaining impressive rankings amongst the nation’s best.
 
The Lumberjack women have climbed up to No. 6 in the country after their runner-up performance at the Gans Creek Classic. In that meet, they finished behind only No. 3 Florida.
 
In the men’s poll, the Lumberjacks are ranked No. 14, which is where they started the season.
 
Regionally, Northern Arizona’s women are currently recognized as the No. 3 team in the NCAA Mountain Region. The Big Sky has four other teams ranked in that region, with No. 11 Weber State, No. 12 Montana State, No. 13 Idaho State and No. 15 Northern Colorado all receiving recognition.
 
In the Men’s Mountain Region Rankings, Northern Arizona checks in at No. 4. They are joined in the poll by No. 9 Weber State, No. 11 Montana State and No. 15 Idaho State.
 
The Lumberjacks will be back on the course for competition on Friday, October 17 for the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin.
 
Championship season will begin for the ‘Jacks after that, as the 2025 Big Sky Cross Country Championships will take place in Bozeman, Montana on November 1, 2025. All 20 Big Sky programs will converge on Bridger Creek Golf Course to fight for a pair of titles.
