FARMINGTON, Utah (Jan. 27, 2025) – The Big Sky Conference will announce weekly honors for indoor track and field, women’s basketball, men’s basketball and tennis through the course of the week.
Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week (Jan. 27, 2025)
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week: Jerome Campbell, Northern Colorado (Jr., Kingston, Jamaica)
Northern Colorado’s
Jerome Campbell has been named Big Sky Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. Campbell placed second in the 60mH at the Ted Nelson Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M. He ran the event in 7.60, .02 seconds short of his UNC and BSC all-time record. With this time, he currently sits at No. 1 in the Big Sky and No. 6 in the entire NCAA.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week: Robert Hartley, Montana State (Sr., Bozeman, Mont.)
Montana State’s
Robert Hartley broke through with a triple PR to win the pole vault at the Bobcat Challenge on Saturday, clearing 5.30 meters (17’ 4.5”) for the new best vault in the Big Sky this season and tied for the second-best clearance in MSU history. This resulted in a Men’s Field Athlete of the Week title. Hartley's final bar made him just the second Bobcat to clear 5.30 meters since 1998, joining his teammate and Big Sky record-holder, Colby Wilson.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: Kyla Christopher-Moody, Montana State (Gr., Royal Oak, Mich.)
Running the fastest women’s 3,000-meter in the Big Sky this season, Montana State’s
Kyla Christopher-Moody has been named Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. Christopher-Moody finished the 3K at the Bobcat Challenge in an altitude adjusted time of 9:17.26, pushing her to the top of the Big Sky standings. The mark person her second all-time at Montana State and 36
th in the nation.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week: Kimberly Smith, Eastern Washington (Jr., Anegada, British Virgin Islands)
After breaking the Eastern Washington school record in the long jump,
Kimberly Smith has been named Women’s Field Athlete of the Week. Smith had a leap of 6.25m (20’ 6.25”) to leap to the top of the conference leaderboard. She hit that mark at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial.

Big Sky Women's Basketball Player of the Week (Jan. 28, 2025)
Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Sophie Glancey, Northern Arizona (F, Jr., Boise, Idaho)
Sophie Glancey helped the Lumberjacks go 2-0 on the weekend, extending their winning streak to four games. She scored 17 points on 8-of-18 from the field with one three pointer against reigning Big Sky champions Eastern Washington and also added seven rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal. Against the Vandals, Glancey scored 28 points for her eighth 20-plus point performance of the season. The junior went 12-of-20 from the field, 2-of-2 from three-point range, and 2-for-2 at the free throw line. She also blocked a career-high six shots, dished three assists and added two steals. On the week, she averaged 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She shot 52.6 percent from the field, 60 percent from three-point range and was perfect at the free throw line.

Big Sky Men's Basketball Player of the Week (Jan. 28, 2025)
Player of the Week: Isaiah Hawthorne, Northern Colorado (F, Gr., Tracy, Calif.)
After missing Thursday’s contest, Northern Colorado’s
Isaiah Hawthorne bounced back on Saturday in a big way to earn Big Sky Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors. Hawthorne dropped 32 points against Eastern Washington, hitting 10-of-16 from the field and 4-of-6 from behind the 3-point stripe. He also pulled down seven rebounds and dished out an assist. He was critical in UNC’s five-point victory over the Eagles on the road. The graduate student from Tracy, California registered the second highest point output by a Big Sky Conference player this season. With the win, UNC matched the best start in Big Sky play in program history since 2010-11 at 7-1 to this point of the schedule. He is the 11
th different player this season to earn Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors.

Big Sky Women's Tennis Player of the Week (Jan. 29, 2025)
Player of the Week: Grace Haugen, Montana (Sr., Cowichan Bay, British Columbia)
Grace Haugen went undefeated in singles and doubles play this past week for Montana, battling against foes from Colorado State and Air Force over the weekend. Moving up to singles court one for the first time this season, the senior beat CSU’s Sarah Weekley in straight sets (6-3, 7-5) to open the trip, and followed that up with a win over Air Force No. 1 Alexis Odom (6-4, 6-7(4), 10-6) in a superbreaker less than 24 hours later. In doubles, Haugen partnered with Rosie Sterk to earn two wins as well at the No. 1 spot.

Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week (Jan. 29, 2025)
Co-Player of the Week: Victor Sklenka, Idaho State (Sr., Prague, Czech Republic)
Victor Sklenka went a combined 3-0 in singles and doubles play for Idaho State this past week, as the Bengals took on Utah in a doubleheader. In sinlges play, Sklenka downed his Utah foe in straight-sets at the No. 2 spot, while winning a pair of matches in doubles at the No. 1 spot with partner Valentino De Pellegrin. Sklenka and De Pellegrin are currently ranked 92nd in the latest ITA Tennis Doubles Rankings, with the newest batch set to be released on Feb. 5.
Co-Player of the Week: Takumi Katsuda, Northern Arizona (Jr., Tokyo, Japan)
Takumi Katsuda went a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles play for Northern Arizona this past week against Air Force and UC Riverside. Katsuda clinched both doubles points over the weekend, while clinching the match with his win at No. 6 against Air Force and putting NAU up 5-0 against UCR.
