Idaho Wins First Men's Basketball Tournament Crown Since 1990

BOISE, Idaho (Mar. 11, 2026) – The Idaho Vandals won the 2026 Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship on Wednesday evening inside Idaho Central Arena for the first time in over 35 years.
 
The Vandals defeated reigning tournament champions Montana, who they fell to twice in the regular season, by a score of 77-66. This will be Idaho's first trip back to the NCAA Tournament since 1990. 
 
Idaho also took down No. 2 Montana State, No. 3 seed Eastern Washington and No. 8 Sacramento State and en route to the tournament crown. 
 
Montana's Money Williams was named Tournament MVP after breaking the tournament scoring record. He scored 91 total points over the course of three contests for the Grizzlies. 
 
The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Selection Show will air live on CBS this Sunday, March 15th at 4 p.m. MT.
