FARMINGTON, Utah (April 21, 2024) – For the first time in league history, the women's tennis regular season concluded with tri-champions, as Idaho State emerged as the No. 1 seed for the 2024 Big Sky Women's Tennis Championship, set for April 25-27, following a series of tiebreakers.
Idaho State, Montana and Sacramento State each finished the season with 6-2 records in conference play, with the regular-season crown being the first in program history for the Bengals. Following tiebreakers, Montana will be slotted as the No. 2 seed and receive a bye into Friday's semifinal round while Sacramento State will be the No. 3 seed and play in Thursday’s opening round.
Joining the tri-champion trio for the conference tournament in Phoenix will be Montana State, Weber State and Northern Arizona. Weber State topped Northern Arizona in last year's tournament, 4-2, winning its first title since 2000 for the women's tennis program.
The winner of the 2024 Big Sky Women’s Tennis Championship, hosted at the Phoenix Tennis Center, will receive the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament, played later in May.
