Hornets Three-Peat as Big Sky Women's Tennis Tournament Champs

The Big Sky tournament title is the 14th in program history for Sacramento State and the third overall for head coach Sophie Breault.

PHOENIX, Arizona (April 25, 2026) – Sacramento State captured its third-straight Big Sky Women's Tennis Tournament title on Saturday, after the top-seeded Hornets downed No. 2-seeded Northern Arizona, 4-1, in the championship final. 

The Big Sky tournament title is the 14th in program history for Sacramento State and the third overall for head coach Sophie Breault.

With the win, the Hornets sweep the regular-season and tournament titles, improving their overall record to 19-5 on the year ahead of the NCAA Tournament. 

Sac State's Reese Walker earned Tournament MVP honors after clinching Saturday's win for the Hornets with her three-set victory in the top singles spot. The honor marks back-to-back seasons that Walker has claimed Tournament MVP honors for the Hornets. 

Sac State will receive an automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament, with the field officially being announced on Monday, April 27 at 2:30 p.m. MT on NCAA.com.
