FARMINGTON, Utah (May 19, 2023) - This season marks the 50th anniversary of the passing of Title IX, the law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in federally-funded education programs or activities and has helped create gender equality in sports. To celebrate this landmark, the Big Sky Conference is highlighting several inspiring female student-athletes from its member institutions, next up we take a look back at the career of Idaho State basketball star Natalie Doma Boblit.
While playing for the Bengals from 2004-2008, Doma Boblit shined on the hardwood as she left an impressive legacy for both Idaho State and the Big Sky Conference.
As a Bengal, the Toronto, Canada native scored 2,296 points, and recorded 1,174 rebounds. Her
freshman performance was one of the best in school history with a season average of 11.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, leading her to be named the Big Sky's Outstanding
Freshman.
Doma Boblit was named the Big Sky Regular-Season and Tournament MVP her senior year and was a three-time First Team All-Conference Selection. The Bengal finished ranked as the Big Sky's No. 2 all-time leading scorer and held the record up until 2019.
Doma Boblit's successful career did not go unnoticed, as she was named the Big Sky's fifth Greatest Female Athlete of All-Time back in 2014 and was inducted into Idaho State's Hall of Fame in 2018.
